"Turbulent Space Magnets"

, 499 DSL,

Abstract:

The universe is filled with plasma, with densities and temperatures ranging from 1 particle per cubic centimeter and 10K in the diffuse interstellar gas; to 10^30 particles per cubic cm and 10^9 K in the centers of white dwarfs. I’ll discuss the impact that the turbulence and magnetic fields have on these systems, and what we can learn from simulations.
